Natasha’s bail rejected in drug case amid settlement reports

KARACHI: A bail request of Natasha Iqbal was rejected in a drug-related case related to a fatal car crash on Karsaz road in Karachi which resulted in the death of two people.

A judicial magistrate in Karachi announcing the reserve judgment rejected the bail application of Natasha after reports of a settlement being reached between Natasha’s family and the families of the victims.

According to the reports, Natasha’s family has paid over 50 million rupees in compensation to the heirs of the deceased Imran Arif and his daughter Amina Arif. The payment was made through a pay order in accordance with Islamic law.

Furthermore, it was learned that a family member of Amina will also be offered employment in a company.

An objection certificate was filed on behalf of the heirs against the accused’s bail application. The objection certificate will be filed by Romana Imran, the wife of the deceased Imran Arif, and their children, Osama Arif and Umme Ammara.

The affidavit stated, “We have settled the matter among ourselves. We have forgiven the accused. We have forgiven her in the name of Allah, who is the most merciful and benevolent. We have no objection to granting bail to the accused.”
