KARACHI: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan has dispatched its second consignment of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support war-affected populations in Gaza and Lebanon.

The recent shipment, sent in collaboration with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, comprises approximately 100 tons of essential supplies, including Medicines, Ready-to-eat meat, Tents, Tarpaulins, Warm bedding, Winter clothing, and Powdered milk.

The packages have been sent via flight from Karachi Jinnah Airport to Beruit which carries the essential supplies, news release added.

The sendoff ceremony was held at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, attended by representatives from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Al-Khidmat Foundation and the Local Administration

Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to those in distress, with speakers at a recent ceremony emphasizing the urgent need for relief.

This dedication is evident in Pakistan’s 12th aid shipment to the region, comprising 10 consignments sent to Palestine and 2 to Lebanon.

The nation’s leadership has consistently demonstrated solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning the use of indiscriminate force and advocating for immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery.

To bolster these efforts, the Government of Pakistan has established the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon”. This fund will collect donations from the public to aid those affected by the war.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced the establishment of this fund during a meeting at NDMA headquarters on October 11, 2024, as per the Prime Minister’s directives.

Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts demonstrate its commitment to supporting affected communities and promoting regional stability. The government urges welfare organizations and the Pakistani public to contribute to these efforts and support their brothers and sisters in distress.
