LAHORE: A new tax deduction system has been implemented on digital payments across Punjab, there will be a 50 percent discount in tax on credit card and digital payments in the restaurant sector.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Revenue Authority says that the tax deducted through e-payment or card will be transferred directly to the government.
The tax rate has been set at 5 percent on the services of beauty parlors, salons and fashion designers, 5 percent tax will also be applicable on cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, skin and laser treatment.

Similarly, 8 percent tax will have to be paid on event management, tour operators, gym and laundry services, 16 percent on cash payments at hotels and restaurants and 8 percent on digital payments.
A 50 percent tax discount has been given on credit card and digital payments in the restaurant sector. Citizens should file complaints against food operators who do not provide a receipt.
