One killed, another injured in roadside blast in Quetta

QUETTA: A Frontier Corps driver was killed and another sustained injuries in a roadside blast in Quetta’s Akhtarabad area near the Northern bypass on Saturday.

According to the police officials, the blast took place near an FC vehicle that was out for routine patrolling, leaving the driver critically wounded. Rescue officials immediately moved the injured to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital.

On being informed, a heavy contingent of police, FC, and other officials reached the spot and began an investigation after cordoning off the areas.

Local publication, citing the Quetta police, reported that four kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
