RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government transferred Superintendent Asad Javed Warraich from Adiala Jail to Sahiwal Prison on Saturday.

The provincial government has issued a notification of appointment and placement in this regard.

According to a notification, Abdul Ghafoor Anjum has been appointed the new superintendent of Adiala Jail, replacing Asad Javed Warraich who has been appointed as Superintendent of Sahiwal Jail.

Abdul Ghafoor Anjum, a Grade-19 officer, who was previously serving as the Superintendent of the Faisalabad Jail, will now serve as Superintendent of Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

The notification details these changes as part of the department’s regular administrative adjustments.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi had reservations about Adiala jail’s ex-superintendent and requested his transfer. The superintendent Asad Warraich was also issued notice of contempt of court.
