Over 25 passengers sustain injuries as signal pole hits train in Khanewal

KHANEWAL: The Signal pole ladder at Khanewal railway station has injured more than 25 passengers, according to railway officials.

Passengers of two trains, including the Musa Pak Express, were injured when they put their hands out of the train window, which led to several injuries.

The Signal pole was deliberately put up by unidentified men, and the railway authorities have started an investigation to probe the incident.

The injured include women, elderly passengers, and youth, but all are reported to be out of danger.

Earlier, A portion of the passenger bridge at Khanewal railway station collapsed on Friday, according to media reports.

According to a railway spokesperson, a railway employee died and a woman was injured when a portion of the bridge collapsed.

The railway spokesperson said that the rescue operation has been completed, and the construction work on the bridge will begin today. The railway spokesperson further said that railway traffic is running as usual.
