PESHAWAR: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 867,000 candidates applied for 16,454 available posts in government schools. The provincial education department received a huge number of applications from candidates looking for jobs in the public school system.
According to the applications received within the total number of applicants 395,000 are women and 470,000 are men, and a mind–boggling 406 as PhD degree holders.
Additionally, 7,161 disabled candidates, and four transgender candidates applied for these posts. The education department has promised that it would be a transparent and merit-based process.
Thus, they hope that candidates deserving the job will, in fact, be offered a contract.
Earlier, Over 218,000 PhD holders applied for primary and secondary school teachers’ jobs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As per the details, in KP, a staggering 218, 088 PhD holders have submitted applications for teaching positions at primary and secondary schools.
