Over Rs 5.02 billion spent by Cabinet Division and attached depts in current fiscal year

ISLAMABAD (Rizwan Abbasi): Details of the budget and expenditures of the Cabinet Division and its attached departments for the current fiscal year have been released. According to official documents, billions of rupees have been spent under various heads as of March 25, 2026.

Documents obtained by Daily Ausaf reveal that Rs. 688.727 million were allocated for the current fiscal year, which remained unchanged in the final allocation, while Rs. 407.216 million has been spent so far. Out of this amount, Rs. 505.473 million were allocated for Federal Ministers and Ministers of State, of which Rs. 317.217 million have already been spent.

Similarly, Rs. 60.870 million were allocated for advisers to the Prime Minister, out of which Rs. 25.962 million have been utilized so far. Meanwhile, Rs. 115.687 million were allocated for Special Assistants to the Prime Minister, with Rs. 64.037 million already spent.

According to the documents, the Cabinet Division was initially allocated a budget of Rs. 4.215 billion, which was later increased to Rs. 5.013 billion. Out of this, Rs. 2.124 billion has been spent so far.

Funds were also allocated to various departments operating under the Cabinet Division. The Cabinet Division Secretariat received Rs. 247.359 million, out of which Rs. 131.357 million have been spent. Similarly, Rs. 530.503 million were allocated for the Central Pool of Cars, of which Rs. 268.461 million have been utilized.

The Asset Recovery Unit was allocated Rs. 60 million, out of which Rs. 4.171 million have been spent. Meanwhile, the Institutional Reforms Cell received a budget of Rs. 78 million, of which Rs. 22.174 million has been used.

The National Archives of Pakistan were allocated Rs. 261 million, with expenditures reaching Rs. 133.069 million so far.
According to the documents, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) had a budget allocation of Rs. 311 million, out of which Rs. 149.201 million has been spent.

Similarly, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) was allocated Rs. 53.6 million, of which Rs. 44.273 million has been utilized.

The Department of Communication Security had a budget of Rs. 350 million, with Rs. 162.017 million already spent.
Furthermore, Rs. 2.926 billion were allocated for Emergency Relief and Repatriation, out of which Rs. 2.496 billion have been spent so far.

Under this head, Rs. 235.576 million were allocated for relief measures, while Rs. 36.721 million were earmarked for the Emergency Relief Cell (6 Aviation Squadron).

Overall figures show that the Cabinet Division and its attached departments were initially allocated Rs. 7.831 billion, which was later increased to Rs. 8.628 billion. By March 25, 2026, total expenditures had reached Rs. 5.028 billion.
According to official documents, the utilization of funds under various heads will continue until the end of the current fiscal year.
