Pakistan formally welcomes Trump’s offer to resolve Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, Pakistan has formally welcomed the US President Donald Trump’s remarks about Pakistan-India relations, particularly on the Kashmir issue.

Pakistan expressed gratitude to the US President for his support of efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in a statement released by the Foreign Office.

The Foreign Office described the ceasefire along the Line of Control as a step towards lowering tensions and improving regional stability and praised the United States’ role in coordinating with other friendly nations to make it possible.

Additionally, the FO spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to collaborating with the US and the global community to promote regional peace, security, and prosperity.

The FO statement reaffirmed how crucial it is to protect the fundamental rights of the Jammu and Kashmiri people, particularly their right to self-determination.

According to the statement, the conflict has significant ramifications for South Asian and global peace and security. In line with pertinent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, it demanded a fair and long-lasting resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

The FO spokesperson added that Pakistan hopes to strengthen its multilateral relationship with the US and anticipates growing trade, investment, and economic development collaboration.

Earlier, on his social media account X, Trump tweeted praising Pakistan and India for accepting the ceasefire agreement.

President Donald Trump assured to provide help in resolving the long-standing Kashmir issue, with a  possible long-term Kashmir talks.

In his tweet, Donald stated,” While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade substantially with both of these great Nations. Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a thousand years,” a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir. God bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!
