ISLAMABAD: After the successful victory against India, Youm-e-Tashakur is being observed nationwide to pay tribute to the armed forces of the country on their courage and bravery.
The Mosques across the country held special prayers and recitation of the Holy Quran. A 31-gun salute was presented in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
The mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal witnessed the change of guard ceremony, while flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in the federal and provincial capitals.
Floral wreaths were laid at Yadgaar-Shuhada. Families of the martyrs of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos will be visited to pay homage to the martyrs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will honor the main ceremony as chief guest with the Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee to grace the occasion as well.
The main ceremony of the Day will be held at the Pakistan Monument, Islamabad, on Friday night.
