ISLAMABAD: The holy month of mercy and blessings, Ramadan, has officially begun across Pakistan. The fasting month began with the sighting of the Ramadan moon and the first Taraweeh prayers were offered after the Isha prayers on March 1, 2025.
The moon was sighted with great devotion and respect in various cities across the country at the start of this holy month. For the faithful, the first Taraweeh prayers provided a moment of spiritual reflection, marking the beginning of their Ramadan.
With the start of Ramadan in Pakistan, the first fast of the month is expected to fall on March 2, after the conclusion of the first Fajr meal, or Suhoor.
Meanwhile, Muslims in Saudi Arabia, other Gulf countries, Europe, and the United States began their fast on March 1. Countries like India, Sri Lanka, and Japan will observe their first fast on March 2, joining the global Muslim community in celebrating this blessed month.
