RAWALPINDI: Farrukh Khokhar was arrested inside the courtroom on Monday after a Rawalpindi court sentenced him and two other convicts to life imprisonment in the high-profile Majid Satti murder case.
The verdict was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ijaz Sufi. Along with Farrukh Khokhar, two other accused were also awarded life imprisonment, while co-accused Waseem was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
According to reports, Farrukh Khokhar had been out on bail during the trial. Following the announcement of the verdict, he was taken into custody from the courtroom, while the other convicted accused had already been brought from jail for the hearing.
Heavy security arrangements were made at the judicial complex due to the sensitivity of the case.
Supporters and family members of both the victim and the accused were present, while law enforcement officials conducted strict security checks before allowing entry into the court premises.
The Majid Satti murder case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station in August 2022 and remained under trial for nearly four years before the court delivered its verdict.
