Pakistan Post announces 54th letter-writing competition, Check eligibility criteria inside

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Post, in collaboration with the Universal Postal Union, has launched the 54th International Letter-Writing Competition for 2025, inviting young students to showcase their writing skills concerning any important global issue.

This year’s competition revolves around the theme: ‘Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you.

Eligibility Criteria:

Participants aged 9-15 years are requested to take the perspective of the ocean and emphasize marine conservation as a dire one through this letter.

The competition will take place in two phases: national and international. Students are required to submit handwritten letters in the English or Urdu language with a maximum limit of 800 words.

The letters must reach the address of the relevant Post Masters General through registered mail or UMS before March 25, 2025. Letters delivered by hand as well as by private courier will not be accepted.

Global Recognition and Prizes

The first three position holders of the national competition will get Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000, and Rs. 10,000, respectively, while they will also receive commemorative stamps and merit certificates.

Each of them will also be invited to sign the guest book in recognition of their achievement on World Post Day, October 9, 2025.

The best English-language letter from the national competition will be sent to the UPU in Bern, Switzerland, for the international competition.

At the international level, a jury appointed by UPU will evaluate the best entries, and the best entries will be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals along with some special commemorative stamps.

This provides the young Pakistani writers a platform to show their creativity and environmental awareness on an international level. Other conditions to qualify in the competition include that students should be aged between 9-15 years old.
