ISLAMABAD (Zubair Kasuri): The Ministry of Interior has launched a new mobile e-visa application to simplify travel for international visitors.

The ministry announced the initiative, stating that the app will make obtaining a Pakistani visa more accessible and convenient through smartphones.

The new mobile platform will eventually replace the existing online visa application system, offering a more streamlined and modern approach. Officials anticipate that the app will improve the overall e-visa process and benefit all travelers to Pakistan.

While specific details about improvements haven’t been released, it is expected to offer a faster and more user-friendly experience.

The application is scheduled to officially launch on January 31st. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has completed all the necessary preparations for the rollout.

This initiative builds on Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to boost tourism. In August 2024, the government introduced the Visa on Arrival (VOA) program, also known as the VPA (Visa Prior to Arrival), granting visa-free entry to citizens of 126 countries.

This move significantly increased the number of international visitors and provided a substantial boost to Pakistan’s tourism industry.

The new mobile e-visa app is expected to further enhance these efforts, making travel to Pakistan even easier for prospective tourists.
