Pakistan to observe ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ on October 7

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced to observe Day of Solidarity on October 7 (Monday) across Pakistan to express solidarity for the unarmed Muslim brothers and sisters suffering from Israeli oppression and brutality in Gaza and Palestine.

The decision was taken during the meeting of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and a delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami led by its Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman in Islamabad on Friday.

On October 7, rallies and seminars would be organized nationwide to express solidarity with the Palestinian brothers and sisters and to raise a voice against the ongoing Israeli oppression.

Apart from that, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host an All Parties Conference to raise a voice against the ongoing oppression of unarmed Palestinians in Gaza and to support the Palestinian brothers and sisters, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

The meeting decided to constitute a committee for Palestine Solidarity Day and the All Parties Conference comprising Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Sherry Rehman, Khawaja Saad Rafique, and Nayyar Bukhari.

According to the details, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will participate in the All Parties Conference.

The Amir Jamat-e-Islami and the delegation lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for raising voice in his address to the UN General Assembly session against ongoing Israeli brutalities on Palestinians and walkout at the beginning of the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech, state-run media said.
