Pakistan weather forecast: PMD predicts rains from 12 March across country

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a new rain system will enter Pakistan on March 12.

The official has predicted that rain is expected in several districts of Punjab, including Lahore, on March 12 and 13.

It has also predicted that thunderstorms may occur in upper parts of Punjab and Islamabad on March 11. However, the weather in the rest of the country is expected to be partly cloudy and dry.

Thunderstorms are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, northeast Balochistan, Potohar region, Islamabad and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on March 12, while light to moderate rain is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

Earlier this month, rains were reported in many parts of Pakistan after a westerly wave reached the western parts of the country on March 2.

Under the influence of this weather system, rain occurred in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, TT Singh.

On March 02 and 03, rain with thundershowers also occurred in Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chaghi, Noshki, Kharan, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Zhob and Sherani.
