ISLAMABAD: NDMA has issued an alert of severe heat wave for various areas till May 5.
According to the announcement, severe heat wave is expected in some areas of Sindh, southern Punjab and Balochistan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Bahawalpur will remain in the grip of severe heat.
According to NDMA, the areas of Rahim Yar Khan, Multan and Turbat will remain in the grip of severe heat, and a sharp increase in temperature is also expected in some areas of central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There is a risk of heatstroke, dehydration and other health problems due to severe heat, the public has been appealed to not go out unnecessarily in the scorching sun, drink more water and take precautionary measures.
The NDMA has directed the relevant institutions to activate the heat wave plan, establish cooling centers, and instruct hospitals to remain alert. The NDMA has directed provincial and district institutions to remain alert to deal with possible weather conditions.
