ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for another 4 days across the country, according to which the heat wave is expected to continue during the current week and high air pressure is likely to remain.

According to the Meteorological Department, from tomorrow to May 24, daytime temperatures in the southern areas are expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal, while in some places it is expected to be 5 to 7 degrees Celsius higher.
The Meteorological Department says that temperatures will increase significantly during the current week due to high air pressure. Temperatures are expected to be recorded significantly higher than normal in the plains of Sindh, southern Punjab and Balochistan, while the intensity of heat will also continue in the upper areas of the country, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The Meteorological Department has warned that due to the intense heat, there is a possibility of wind and hailstorms in some plains. The public has been instructed to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun and take precautionary measures.
Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has issued instructions to all relevant agencies to remain alert and take necessary measures so that any emergency situation can be dealt with in a timely manner.
