RAWALPINDI: In the 30th match of Pakistan Super League Season 10, Islamabad United defeated Karachi Kings by a huge margin of 79 runs.
In the match played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Islamabad United gave Karachi Kings a mountain-like target of 252 runs to win, which they failed to achieve, and the entire team was bowled out for 172 runs.
David Warner 43 and Abbas Afridi 34 were the standouts for Karachi Kings, while Islamabad captain Shadab Khan took four wickets while Imad Wasim and Salman Irshad took two wickets each.
Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat first.
Alex Hales stood out for United by scoring a smoky 88 runs. Sahibzada Farhan 73, captain Shadab Khan 42, Salman Agha 7 and Rasi van der Dussen 1 run were out.
Haider Ali scored 19 and Ben Duvarshuis scored 10 runs and returned to the pavilion not out.
Mir Hamza, Aamir Jamal and Khushdil Shah took 1 wicket each for the Kings.
After playing ten matches, Quetta Gladiators are at the first place with 15 points on the points table. Islamabad United is second with 12 points, while Karachi Kings is at the third place.
While Lahore Qalandars are at the fourth place with 11 points.
Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United will clash in the first qualifying match of the PSL. While Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars will compete in the first eliminator.
Islamabad’s final XI in the match included Sahibzada Farhan, Van Der Dussen, Alex Hales, Haider Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Muhammad Ghazi Ghauri, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Ben Dorshuis, Salman Irshad and Tim Mills.
Karachi Kings’ Tim Seifert, James Vince, David Warner, Khushdil Shah, Saad Baig, Irfan Niazi, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Nabi, Abbas Afridi, Hassan Ali and Mir Hamza took to the field.
