Pakistani soldier martyred, eight terrorists killed in South Waziristan operation. A soldier of Pakistan Army was martyred and eight terrorists were killed during an intense fire exchange in Shinwarsak area of South Waziristan.
According to ISPR, security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) the area when they engaged in a gun battle with the terrorists.
It said the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, killing eight of them, including their commander Jan Muhammad alias Chargh. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.

However, Sepoy Hamid Rasool, resident of Rawalpindi having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom, while another four personnel including two officers got injured.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” reads ISPR’s statement.
On March 21, a brigadier from the Inter-Services Intelligence was martyred during an encounter with “hardcore terrorists” in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda while three soldiers embraced martyrdom and three terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire in Dera Ismail Khan district.
On March 10, five terrorists were killed by security forces in IBOs carried out in North and South Waziristan.
