PIA flight avoids major accident after bird strike at Lahore Airport

LAHORE: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight narrowly avoided a major accident after a bird hit the aircraft while landing at Lahore Airport.

The Boeing 777, operating as flight PK-860 from Jeddah to Lahore, had over 300 passengers on board at the time of the incident.

According to sources, the bird hit the plane’s engine number 2, causing significant damage. After inspection, the plane was grounded for further testing.

PIA aircraft engineers are currently conducting a detailed inspection to assess the extent of the damage and determine the necessary repairs before the plane is returned to service.
