ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions to provide more facilities to the citizens under the “Apna Ghar Scheme”.
In this regard, a high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which a detailed review of the current progress of the scheme was taken. In the meeting, the concerned officials informed the Prime Minister that a large number of citizens from across the country are becoming a part of this scheme, due to which the popularity of this program is continuously increasing. Work on applications under the scheme is going on rapidly.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Apna Ghar is the basic need of every citizen. Therefore, this scheme should be made more effective and faster. He directed that more facilities should be provided to the citizens in the application and approval process.
The Prime Minister also directed the banks to speed up the approval process of correct and complete applications so that the deserving people can fulfill their dream of owning their homes soon. Transparency and speed should be ensured in the scheme.
Issues related to Pakistan Railways were also discussed in the meeting. The Prime Minister approved a strategic roadmap for the improvement of the railways. He said that reforms in the railway sector are the need of the hour.
The Prime Minister directed that private sector participation in Pakistan Railways be promoted under public-private partnership so that the performance of the institution improves and modern travel facilities can be provided to the public.
