Police mobile under attack, 5 officials including DSP martyred in Kohat

KOHAT: Terrorists targeted a police mobile in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which 5 officials including a DSP and 2 civilians were martyred while 3 officials were injured.

According to police officials, unknown terrorists suddenly opened fire on a police mobile in Shakardara area of ​​Kohat. Confirming the incident, Shahbaz Elahi said that 5 officials including DSP Asad Mahmood and SI Anar Gul were martyred in the attack, while two civilians also lost their lives. The injured officials were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.

According to the police, the attackers set the police mobile on fire and fled after the incident. A heavy police contingent has been called in the area and a search operation has been launched.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the incident, paid tribute to the martyrs and expressed condolences to the families. He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and the scourge of terrorism will be uprooted.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi also expressed deep sorrow over the incident and sought a report from the IG Police and said that the nation will always remember the sacrifices of the martyrs.
