ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) adjourned the hearing on the bail applications of PTI founder Imran Khan in the May 9 cases until August 12.

A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi heard the case. The hearing was adjourned on Salman Safdar’s adjournment application.

Lawyer Salman Akram Raja said that Salman Safdar has requested an adjournment, adding that give us the date for next week and also issue notices.

The Supreme Court rejected the request to give the date for next week and give notice, and adjourned the hearing until August 12.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had rejected the bail applications of PTI founder Imran Khan in 8 cases of May 9, according to media reports.

A 2-member bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Rizvi ruled on the applications by rejecting the bail application of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the 9th May cases.

PTI founder Imran Khan had filed bail applications in 8 cases on May 9, on which the court reserved its decision after the hearing.

Notably, the cases of burning and besieging Jinnah House and Askari Tower have been registered against the PTI founder.

The PTI leadership has expressed dissatisfaction over the verdict of the Lahore High Court in the May 9th cases.
