LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz retract her statements and apologize.

According to sources, a PPP delegation met Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The PPP maintained that none of our leaders or workers had made any controversial statements regarding Punjab.

The PPP leaders said that if any of our workers, party officials, or leaders have criticized Punjab or written on social media, then they should provide evidence. If there is no evidence, Maryam Nawaz should retract her statement.

The federal government decided to address the PPP’s displeasure. Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar met with Ishaq Dar and informed him of the PPP’s concerns.

Before the meeting, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar had informed Ishaq Dar about the PPP’s concerns. Dar then reached out to the party, assuring them that steps would be taken to bridge differences between the allies

Senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira, has said that we supported the government with good intentions, but unfortunately, the government did not implement all the provisions of the agreement.

While talking to journalists in Lahore, he addressed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and said that you are our sister and daughter, just consider your tone, whatever differences there were, leave them there.

Qamar Zaman Kaira clarified that the PPP supported the government without taking ministries, but the dialogue that is taking place at the moment will not benefit politics and democracy.

He said that we supported the government on every issue and every step, tried repeatedly to implement the agreement, but this could not happen. We are not sharing power with the government; we are only supporting it.
