ISLAMABAD (From Rizwan Abbasi): Details of foreign visits made by Pakistan’s top political leadership over the past one and a half years have emerged, highlighting extensive diplomatic engagement across multiple regions.
From March 2024 to October 2025, the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan undertook official visits to several key countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Iran, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and the United Kingdom.
The aim of these visits was to further strengthen trade, defense, investment, and diplomatic relations.
According to the details, the President of Pakistan made three foreign visits between March 2024 and September 2025.
The first visit was to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on October 10-11, 2024, where the President discussed cooperation and promotion of regional ties between the two countries.
The second visit took place from November 3 to 8, 2024, in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Shanghai, where progress was made on economic partnership and trade projects.
The third visit was from September 12 to 21, 2025, to the Chinese cities of Chengdu, Shanghai, Urumqi, and Kashgar, where new agreements on bilateral investment, energy and industrial cooperation were signed.
According to sources, these visits of the President have proven to help create a new dimension in Pakistan-China relations and ties with Central Asian countries.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister made 34 foreign visits from March 2024 to October 22, 2025, with Saudi Arabia at the top.
The Prime Minister made a total of seven visits to Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and Jeddah, during which important discussions were held on OIC meetings, investment conferences, and Hajj arrangements.
During the same period, the Prime Minister made two visits to Iran (Tehran), two visits to China (Beijing, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Tianjin), two visits to Turkey (Ankara and Istanbul), and three visits to Azerbaijan (Baku).
In addition, the Prime Minister also made important official visits to the United States, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Malaysia.
During these visits, several agreements related to economic cooperation, energy projects, investment opportunities and defense partnerships were signed.
According to government sources, the main objective of these visits was to improve Pakistan’s global image, expand economic ties, and restore the confidence of foreign investors.
The Prime Minister attended the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) sessions in September 2024 and September 2025, where he presented Pakistan’s clear position on Kashmir, Palestine, and global peace.
Furthermore, Pakistan signed important Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various countries in the fields of energy, trade, agriculture, transport, and the digital economy.
