ISLAMABAD: Tensions flared during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad when party workers expressed anger over the lack of progress, with one throwing a bottle at Ali Amin Gandapur.
Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, were among the workers in Islamabad. The frustrated members confronted the leaders in their vehicles and urged them to proceed towards D-Chowk.
According to media reports, the workers tried to attack Gandapur when he tried to address them outside his vehicle. However, the crowd demanded action instead of speeches.
In the protest, the workers surrounded Gandapur’s vehicle, even climbed on one, and alleged that the leader was sitting comfortably.
Facing mounting pressure, Gandapur called security and returned to the vehicle.
