MUZAFFARABAD: The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has rejected the application for registration of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir for violation of financial rules.
According to the Election Commission, the application could not be approved due to the non-implementation of Rule 121.
Sources say that financial irregularities were identified in the audit report. And despite re-audit, the objections persisted.
The representatives of PTI Azad Kashmir were also given the opportunity of a personal hearing. However, the registration could not be approved as the legal requirements were not met.
The Election Commission has taken the stand that there are uniform rules for all political parties and they are strictly implemented.
