ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, police have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed and her husband, Professor Atiq, near Kot Lakhpat Jail.

The couple was detained by authorities amidst a significant police presence, involving multiple vehicles, and taken to a location not disclosed to the public for further investigation.

Their arrest occurred shortly after attending a court hearing related to the May 9 cases, which sparked widespread political unrest and led to various legal actions against members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Sanam Javed, a key figure in the couple, has been previously associated with the unrest following the May 9 incidents. However, the specific charges against the couple have not been officially announced by the authorities yet.
