PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, has expressed profound anger, announcing legal action against the PTI worker responsible for waving the US flag at a PTI rally.
KP CM advisor emphasized that PTI rejects the display of the US flag, and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has also expressed strong disapproval.
Earlier, the shocking incident unfolded at a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Swabi on November 9, 2024, when a party worker unexpectedly waved a US flag, sparking tension among attendees.
The situation quickly escalated as nearby supporters urged the worker to lower the flag, calling for the display to stop. Amid some scuffling, the worker lowered the flag, but not before a video of the incident went viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions.
In the same rally, KP CM Gandapur vowed to secure Khan’s release, stating that party workers were willing to “sacrifice their lives” for this purpose. This development highlights the ongoing tensions and complexities surrounding PTI’s political landscape.
This incident comes at a crucial time for PTI, as the party hopes US President-elect Donald Trump may influence Pakistani authorities regarding the party’s founder, Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for over a year.
Despite being acquitted or having sentences suspended in multiple cases, Khan remains imprisoned due to a fresh case.
