ISLAMABAD: Islamabad district administration has declared a local public holiday on Wednesday, August 13, to facilitate preparations ahead of Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day celebrations in the federal capital.
Now, all private and government institutions in Islamabad will remain closed on August 13 and 14; thus, residents of the federal capital will benefit from two consecutive holidays.
As per details, a special celebration ceremony will be held at the Sports Complex in Shakarparian from 5:00 PM on August 13 till 1:30 AM on August 14.
Earlier, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Randhawa said that a grand celebration of Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq will be observed in the federal capital with full national spirit and public participation.
The city is festooned with national flags, and all government buildings have been illuminated and are displaying patriotic colors. Key roads such as Constitution Avenue, Srinagar Highway, Club Road, and Jinnah Avenue are illuminated with decorative LED lights and digital screens.
