LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced 460 scholarships for students from Balochistan with the aim of increasing access to higher education and creating new educational opportunities for talented youth.

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government has announced 460 educational scholarships for deserving and talented students of Balochistan so that financial difficulties do not become a barrier to education.

According to the Punjab government’s announcement, for the academic year 2025-26, all students of Intermediate, Graduation and MSM Phil who have a domicile in Balochistan are eligible for this scholarship.

Applications for the scholarships have been invited through the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund, which specifically targets low-income and deserving students so that they can get admission in quality educational institutions.

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti welcomed the initiative and thanked Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He termed this initiative as an important step towards promoting educational opportunities, saying that such initiatives are also providing access to higher educational institutions to students from ordinary families, which reflects social progress.

He reiterated the commitment that education is a fundamental right of every citizen and that reforms are underway to improve the education sector in Balochistan.
