Punjab CM holds draw for ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ Scheme

LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made 30,000 poor families of Punjab the owners and masters of cultivable government land.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given ownership rights to 30,000 families for 20 years on a symbolic lease of just Rs 100 per year, Chief Minister Punjab Sharif has conducted the balloting of the Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar Scheme.

Through the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme, 30,000 landless families of Punjab have got one lakh 21,000 acres for 20 years, poor families have also got land rights and for the first time, financial assistance of Rs 50,000 per acre has also been provided for farming.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz spoke to Abdul Sattar son of Mukhtar Ahmed of Faisalabad, who was the first to be successful in the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar program, on the phone for verification.

The Chief Minister congratulated the 30,000 families who successfully obtained cultivable agricultural land in the computerized balloting and said, “Earn your own money, eat your own food, live with pride.”

Maryam Nawaz spoke to the successful candidate over the phone and said, “Congratulations, you are the owner for the next twenty years. You have to pay only Rs. 100 per year. You have got 4 acres of land. You have to pay Rs. 59,000 per acre.”

The Chief Minister said that now you will not have to depend on anyone and take help. You will also be given Rs. 200,000 for preparing the land. Earn well, develop and feed your family.

He further said that the successful candidates will get the lease certificate very soon, the cultivable land of Punjab will be identified and given to the poor families, only the needy families who do not have their own agricultural property will get the land.

The Chief Minister said that the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar scheme is for the poorest of the poor, with Apna Khet Apna Rozgar, the self-esteem of the poor will also be restored, financial independence will also come, agricultural production will also increase, Punjab has become the only province that has made the public a stakeholder in government land.
