PESHAWAR: Three people, including a Punjab police officer, were killed in a shooting incident in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the private news channel report, the deceased included Sub-Inspector Qadeer Khan from Faisalabad and a father and son. The group was reportedly on their way to Lakki Marwat for a holiday when unknown assailants opened fire on them.
The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to arrest the perpetrators. The incident came after two separate blasts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged Bajaur district, in which two people, including a policeman, were killed.
One blast took place in the Arab area of Tehsil Mohmand, killing one person, while the other took place in the limits of Police Station Loi Mohmand, killing a policeman. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen an alarming increase in violent incidents recently.
On November 20, at least twelve security personnel were killed in a suicide bomb attack on a security check post in Bannu. The Khawarij group claimed responsibility for the attack, in which a vehicle packed with explosives crashed into the wall of the post, causing significant damage and casualties.
