LAHORE: In a significant development, nearly 30,000 driving licenses were issued across Punjab in a single day.
According to the data, a total of 29,694 people have obtained their licenses as part of the ongoing efforts by the Punjab Police through the City Traffic Police (CTP) departments. The process is being managed under the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS), which aims to make licensing more efficient and accessible.
Along with issuing licenses, the authorities have taken strict action against traffic rule violations. Over 51,000 challans were issued in a single day, while fines of Rs 5,000 were imposed. Rs 44 million were levied.
The crackdown also targeted vehicles emitting smoke, with challans issued against 402 such vehicles. Additionally, 35 vehicles were seized and locked up in various police stations for serious violations.
