Ramadan 2025: Sindh govt announces new school timings

KARACHI: Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, the Sindh Education Department on Tuesday announced a new schedule for regular classes in all schools operating in single and double shifts.

The new working hours will be applicable to all primary, secondary, higher secondary and elementary schools during Ramadan.

According to the new schedule, regular classes in primary schools operating in single shifts will begin at 8 am and end at 1:30 pm, while the timings will be from 8 am to 11:30 pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, primary schools operating in double shifts will conduct classes from 7:30 am to 11:30 am while their second shift will be from 11:45 am to 2:45 pm. There will be no change in the timings of the first shift on Friday while the second shift will be from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm.

All single-shift secondary, higher secondary and elementary schools will remain open from 8 am to 1:30 pm, while their classes will be held from 8 am to 11:30 pm on Friday.

According to the revised schedule for double-shift secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will have classes from 7:30 am to 11:30 am and the second shift will continue from 11:45 am to 2:45 pm.

Thereafter, in double-shift schools, the first shift will start at 7:30 am and end at 11:30 pm and the second shift will be from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm on Friday.
