RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Squad operated against unauthorized commercial buildings on Caltex Road in Morgah and sealed 11 properties, including seven shops, two warehouses, and two restaurants on Saturday.

Kazmi Hamdaan Real Estate, Ibrahim Traders, New Shaheen Chicken Shop, New Fast Laundry Shop, Tyre Shop, Razzaq Market, Quetta Sada Bahar Hotel, Meezan Food, Peshawari Driver Hotel, and other properties were among those sealed, according to an RDA representative.

The authorized plans and maps were discovered to be broken by Chaudhry Akram, Osama, Nouman, Saeed, Nasir Kiyani, Naeem, Ajmal, Muhammad Razzaq, Zahoor Hashmi, Dr. Waheed, and Mirza Shamim Baig, the proprietors of these estates.

They breached the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021 by constructing illegal commercial buildings without approval or No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing has been given stringent instructions by the RDA director general to unbiasedly execute measures against unauthorized construction and commercial operations, as well as encroachments.

To regularize any illegal residential and commercial structures under RDA’s control, the Building Control Wing has also been entrusted with surveying fees and costs for the approval of commercial and residential buildings, commercialization, and complementing building plans.
