SARGHODA: Through a skill-development program initiated by the jail administration, the inmates at Shahpur District Jail in Sargodha have begun manufacturing soap, shampoo, and sanitizers to encourage healthy activity in jail.
Shahpur Jail and other prisons in Punjab would gain from the program, which equips prisoners with practical skills.
Using equipment developed especially for this reason, the program teaches prisoners how to make soap, dishwashing solutions, and sanitizers. The goods are meant to be used both inside Punjab’s jails and outside, on the free market, providing the prisoners with a means of recompense. We are now using our hands to master new abilities.

The scheme is a major step toward the economic and social rehabilitation of inmates, according to DIG Prisons Saeedullah Gondal. “Our aim is to give them such skills that they can improve their lives in the future,” he said.
Through the training program, inmates can learn the skills they need in as little as one month and have the ability to make up to 100,000 soaps per month.
Program participants will receive financial assistance and vocational training to help them reintegrate into society as contributing members of society upon their release.
