RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully foiled a cowardly attack at four locations in Balochistan’s Spin Boldak area, killing 15 to 20 Afghan Taliban.

The ISPR said that unfortunately the attack was carried out through the divided villages of the area, with no regard for the civilian population.

“The Afghan Taliban also destroyed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side, which clearly shows the mentality of the divided tribes regarding mutual trade and ease of access,” the official statement read.

“While repelling the attack, 15-20 Afghan Taliban were killed and many injured. The situation is still improving. There are reports of further increase in staging points of Fitna-ul-Khawarij and Afghan Taliban.”

The ISPR said that the attack in Spin Boldak was not an isolated incident as on the night of October 14/15, the Afghan Taliban and “Fitna-ul-Khawarij” tried to attack Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The attacks were effectively repulsed, causing heavy damage to Afghan posts. Eight posts, including six tanks, were destroyed in an effective but proportionate response by Pakistani troops. 25 to 30 Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Kharij fighters are suspected to have been killed,” the ISPR said.

The attack was launched by Pakistan, which is a provocative and blatant lie, as are claims of capturing Pakistani posts or equipment. The Taliban regime’s propaganda can be debunked by checking basic facts.

“The armed forces are determined and fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Any aggression against Pakistan will be met with a befitting response.”
