RAWALPINDI: Security forces foiled a major infiltration attempt on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing 54 Khawarij.

According to the ISPR, on the intervening night of April 25 and 26 and again on the night of April 26 and 27, security forces in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan timely noted the movement of a large group of Khawarij who were trying to enter Pakistan.

Security forces took timely action and effectively foiled the Khawarij infiltration. A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered during the operation.

The ISPR says that according to intelligence reports, these Khawarij were infiltrating Pakistan on the instructions of their ‘foreign masters’ to carry out large-scale terrorist acts.

The ISPR has said that at a time when India is making baseless allegations against Pakistan, these activities of Khawarij make it clear on whose instructions they are working.

The ISPR further stated that this is the largest number of Khawarij killed in a single operation in the ongoing campaign against terrorism.
