MUSAKHAIL: At least four terrorists were killed in a shootout with the security forces during an operation in the Musakhail district of Balochistan on Wednesday, according to security sources.
The militants were involved in attacks on buses in Rara Sham and Rardkan areas. An intelligence-based operation by the Security forces neutralized them.
According to security sources, the terrorists were planting bombs on a highway in the Rara Sham area. Weapons and bombs were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a major terrorist attack, killing three terrorists in an exchange of fire, and six others managed to escape near Rahmani Khel Mor on Thursday, according to media reports.
This was an intelligence-based operation carried out by the CTD to apprehend the militants; however, a fierce exchange of fire resulted in the killing of three militants, according to the spokesperson of the CTD.
The authorities confirmed that the militants were plotting attacks on the police checkpost in the city, which the CTD now foils.
Police have established a check post in Rahmani Khel Mor area of Mianwali.
