The regulatory body said that it never asks the citizens for their personal data, such as passwords, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), or online credentials through calls, emails, or messages.
“Stay cautious — PTA will NEVER ask for your personal details, passwords, or OTPs via call, email, or message. Protect yourself and stay vigilant,” the authority stated in its alert.
The PTA warned citizens to exercise caution when receiving unsolicited calls, messages, or emails that may attempt to extract private information, adding that the public should not engage with suspicious links or unknown senders.
PTA has issued contact information for reporting the scammers.
Emphasizing the protection of personal data, the authority urged citizens to report any unusual activity without delay to combat such fraudulent schemes.
