“Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas Afridi has replaced Mohammad Wasim Jr in Pakistan’s T20I squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Wasim Jnr picked up a side strain during the HBL PSL and was not able to recover in time”, PCB said in a press release.

“Abbas has represented Pakistan in 20 T20Is, having snapped 33 wickets. He was also the joint-second leading wicket-taker in the HBL PSL X with 17 scalps”, the statement reads.

Earlier, according to media reports, Pakistan’s star all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr could miss the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh due to an injury, according to media reports.

Wasim sustained the injury in the Pakistan Super League X match and has not recovered since then. The medical staff has advised him to rest for some time.

Furthermore, Wasim Jr is expected to undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). It is worth noting that the T20 series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin today.
