KARACHI: The Sindh Transport Department has announced an extension of operating hours for the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi during Ramadan.

According to Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon, from the 15th of Ramadan onwards, the bus service will run late into the night. This extension will apply to Routes R1, R2, R3, R4, R9, R10, and EV1.

Minister Memon emphasized that this decision aims to ease transportation challenges for citizens during Ramadan, considering that a large portion of Karachi’s population relies on public transport.

He assured that the extended hours will ensure people can return home safely after shopping and other activities during Ramadan nights.

This move is part of the Sindh government’s efforts to provide relief to the people. Last year, Minister Sharjeel Memon inaugurated a new route of the People’s Bus Service from Hawkes Bay to Tower, offering inexpensive travel with AC facilities. The government aims to make public transportation more accessible and convenient for Karachi’s residents.
