PESHAWAR: A teenage girl has succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
The girl had been working as a domestic help for the accused Haris for the past seven months. Her father revealed that she faced continuous sexual abuse, and her condition deteriorated over time. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she could not be saved.
Doctors at Ayub Medical Complex confirmed through post-mortem that the girl was subjected to sexual violence, with marks of brutality visible on her body. The doctors also said that she was deprived of food and water during her ordeal.
DSP Siraj Ahmed announced the arrest of the accused Haris, adding that the authorities have taken immediate action. A case has been registered against him and the girl’s body has been handed over to her family after post-mortem.
This tragic incident highlights the disturbing pattern of violence and exploitation faced by domestic workers, especially minors from poor backgrounds. Social media users and advocacy groups are calling for justice and stronger measures to protect vulnerable children from such exploitation.
The latest sexual assault has sparked widespread outrage, as rights activists and social media users have stressed the urgent need for the justice system to resolve similar cases quickly.
