ISLAMABAD: The traffic police have reminded motorcyclists that there are only three days left to take advantage of the ongoing relief measure for obtaining learner and regular driving licenses. The scheme, which has received overwhelming response from the public, is set to end on November 30.

After this date, authorities will start cracking down on unlicensed riders. Citizens are encouraged to visit licensing centres with their original identity cards to secure their licenses and avoid legal action.

Additional Inspector General Mirza Farhan Baig highlighted the success of the measure, noting that it has already benefited over 1.2 million citizens.

According to official figures, 460,940 people have obtained learner licenses while 764,961 people have obtained regular driving licenses. Moreover, over 185,000 licenses were renewed during the relief period.

The traffic police spokesperson urged motorcyclists to act quickly before the measure ends. The spokesperson said that from December 1, the 42-day validity period for learner’s licenses will be strictly enforced again.

The scheme has been hailed as a significant step towards improving road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic rules. Motorcyclists are urged not to miss this opportunity as the deadline is approaching.
