RAWALPINDI: The army’s media wing said that three terrorists belonging to Fitnal Khwarij were killed in two separate clashes with security forces in cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 21-22.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the Bara general area of Khyber district.

They have been identified as Haq Yar Afridi alias Khyber and Gull Jan.

In another incident, security forces intercepted the movement of a group of terrorists in the South Waziristan district, who were trying to infiltrate from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. One terrorist was killed while three others were injured.

The ISPR statement said that “Pakistan has been continuously asking the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management along the border,” adding that the interim Afghan government is expected to fulfill its responsibilities and “deny the use of Afghan soil by the Khwarij for terrorist acts against Pakistan.”

The statement said: “Pakistan’s security forces are determined and determined to secure its border and eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.”

Pakistan has seen a surge in militancy since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021, with the movement’s Pakistani chapter mostly carrying out attacks targeting security forces.

Last week, seven security personnel were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to attack security forces post in the Shah-e-Mardan area of Balochistan’s Kalat district.
