It is to be noted that New Zealand will take on Bangladesh on February 24, while South Africa will face Australia on February 25 and Pakistan will take on Bangladesh on February 27 in their last group stage match.
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad and Rawalpindi Traffic Police have issued a traffic route plan for the Champions Trophy matches, which will held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on February 24, 25, and 27.
According to the Islamabad traffic police spokesperson, the routes will be enforced at different times today during the movement of foreign teams.
“The routes will be in place from 12 PM to 2 PM, 4 PM to 6 PM, and 9 PM to 11 PM on Srinagar Highway, Club Road, and Express Highway,” he said.
The traffic police warned citizens that traffic congestion is expected on Srinagar Highway and Expressway during the designated hours.
On the other hand, City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has also announced a traffic management plan to facilitate commuters during the Champions Trophy matches.
According to the plan, Murree Road from Faizabad to Double Road will remain completely closed during the arrival and departure of teams at the stadium.
Traffic from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to the Expressway, while commuters traveling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be redirected via Chandni Chowk and Rehmanabad.
Furthermore, traffic from Ghausia Chowk will be diverted through Farooq Azam Road and Kuri Road. Stadium Road from Ninth Avenue Chowk to Double Road Turn will remain closed during the match.
Traffic from Ninth Avenue will be redirected to Faizabad, Expressway, and IJP Road.
Vehicles entering Rawalpindi will use Pindora Chungi, Katarian, Peerwadhai Mor, and Chak Madad, while traffic heading toward Ninth Avenue from Rawalpindi will enter via Murree Road and Faizabad.
