Two policemen martyred in Lakki Marwat terrorist attack

LAKI MARWAT: Two policemen were martyred on Monday in a firing incident in the Kharu Khel Pacca town in Lakki Marwat District.

The police constables, identified as Hikmatullah and Khan Bahadar, were going to their duty place on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen opened fire at them.

The incident occurred within the limits of the Ghazni Khel police station.

The deceased police officials were deployed at the Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan Police Station and Shahbazkhel Police Station, respectively.

KP Police Spokesperson Shahid Hameed said, “Both of them received critical bullet injuries and died instantly while the attackers fled the place on a motorcycle.”

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Tajazai for a post-mortem examination.

A heavy contingent of law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families praying for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.

In a statement, the Interior Minister paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police saying they have offered supreme sacrifices during the fight against terrorism.

He said that the martyrs of the police are a source of inspiration for the whole nation and especially for the Security Forces.
