KARACHI: The University of Karachi has conferred an honorary doctorate on renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik in recognition of his immense contributions to the Muslim world.
At a ceremony held at the Governor House, Sindh Governor and University of Karachi Chancellor Kamran Tessori presented the honorary PhD degree to Dr. Naik, praising his vast popularity and influence.
Governor Tessori acknowledged Dr. Naik’s impressive track record, having delivered thousands of lectures globally and participated in numerous debates.
The event drew a diverse range of dignitaries, including consuls general from various countries, Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman Professor Dr. Tariq Rafi, University of Karachi Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Iraqi, and Mufti Abdul Rahim.
Faculty members, deans, and professors from the university also attended the ceremony to honor Dr. Naik’s achievements.
Governor Tessori expressed his confidence that Dr. Naik would continue his dedicated work, saying, “This honorary degree is a recognition of his invaluable services.
I congratulate him on receiving this doctorate and have full confidence that he will continue his work with the same dedication’’, Governer added. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Naik’s significant impact on the global Muslim community.
